TOM MITCHELL
Hi! I'm Tom Mitchell the 1 Minute Dog Trainer.
Dogs can be our greatest friends. They live simply, love generously, and care deeply. If we followed their lead, we would run to greet our loved ones the moment they come home, never pass an opportunity for a joyride, and delight in the simple pleasure of a long walk.
But, frustrations often arise when we try to teach them. We snap at the puppy chewing our shoes. We’re mad at our dog who constantly pulls on the leash. We try to train our dogs, but we grow impatient and life gets in the way.
This is why created the 1 Minute Dog Training! I have worked with a variety of animals for over three decades. Wild wolves, aggressive house cats, and Olympic equestrian teams. However, my greatest love is working with puppies and dogs.
After working with many families and their dogs, I discovered the number one reason people did not train their dogs was because people ran out of time. That is why I created the 1 Minute Dog Training Method. As the name suggests this innovative approach teaches short, fun, and focused 1 minute training sessions.

DeeAnn & Ohia's Story
“With the 1 Minute Dog Training it’s been almost miraculous… just one minute at a time seems to be making some really amazing results.
She has gone from dragging me down the street to being right by my side… It’s been so amazing to see how in just in a few short minutes she can change her behavior so radically.”

Training sessions that run too long often lead to decreased focus and attention from your dog. Short, frequent sessions capture and hold your dog's attention, making the training far more effective.
With 1 minute training sessions, you're able to reinforce positive behavior multiple times throughout the day, leading to quicker learning and better retention.
Short training sessions keep things fun and interesting! Long training sessions can be physically and mentally taxing for both you and your dog, which can lead to stress and frustration.
Dogs thrive on consistency and routine. Frequent 1-minute training sessions allow you to build a steady routine and strengthen the bond with your dog, all while cultivating desired behaviors.
With the 1 minute method, training is a part of your everyday interaction with your dog. This seamless integration leads to more practical learning and better behavior adjustment.

“I had a most positive training experience with the 1 Minute Dog Training! When I took my dog to a local dog training class, they were too rigid and strict. But our work with the 1 minute sessions was perfect….gentle and joyful, but firm. I highly recomment this training method.”
-Linda Reuther and Buffalo
“Mitchell draws on his decades of experience as a dog trainer to simplify the process in this guide… In brief, colorfully illustrated chapters full of engaging graphics and bulleted text, Mitchell takes the reader through his program.
He broadens his advice to include many training-adjacent subjects, like dog cognition, leash training, nipping and biting, and even the nuances of picking the right food… The foremost strength of the book lies in the inherent compassion underlying all of these micro sessions of training—the assumption (running throughout the book) that dogs are separate, complex beings, far more intelligent and intuitive than most humans give them credit for being.”

Dogs Can Be Our Greatest Friends
This is why I created the 1 Minute Dog Training.
I have over three decades of hands-on experience with a variety of animals.
From wild wolves to aggressive house cats, and also Olympic equestrian teams.
However, my greatest love is working with puppies and dogs.
After working with many families and their dogs, I discovered that the number one reason that people did not train their dogs was because people ran out of time.
As the name suggests, this innovative training approach teaches short, fun, and focused, 1 minute training sessions.
I discovered with dog training it’s the consistency that matters, not the length of the sessions. The 1 Minute Training focuses on patience, positive reinforcement, and daily 1 minute sessions.
The 1 Minute Dog Training method promises a unique, effective, and kind way to deepen the bond between people and their dogs.
In a world where time is of the essence, I have found that all it takes is just one minute to make a difference.
