What is “1 Minute Dog Training” and how does it work?

I developed this method because I wanted busy people to be able to train their dogs easily. With 1 Minute Dog Training, you work with your dog in quick, focused sessions throughout your normal routine—just 1 minute at a time. The magic is that frequent, positive interactions keep your dog engaged and learning faster than those exhausting marathon training sessions ever could.

Who is this method suitable for — puppies, adult dogs, older dogs?

Every dog! I’ve used these techniques with puppies learning for the first time, adult dogs set in their ways, and yes—even old stubborn dogs who’ve built habits for years. What matters is consistency and the right approach.

Do I need any special equipment to use this training method?

Nope. You don’t need a garage full of gear or fancy gadgets. Most of what we do uses what you already have: your voice, your body language, some treats occasionally, but mostly praise. A good harness and leash for walking is helpful. I also incorporate Tellington TTouch® techniques, but that just requires your hands and gentle intention.

How much time do I need each day — is 1 minute per session really enough?

Yes, really. I know it sounds almost too easy, but here’s why it works: dogs have shorter attention spans. One focused minute several times each day is better than fifteen to twenty minutes of distracted practice. When you train in 1 minute sessions throughout the day, you’re catching your dog at peak focus and reinforcing good behavior multiple times. It’s not about marathon sessions—it’s about smart, consistent repetition.

What if I’ve never trained a dog before — can I still use these methods?

Absolutely. I designed this specifically for people like you. No prior experience needed. We start with the basics—a simple sit, stay and come. I break everything down into easy, kind, common-sense steps. If you can spend a minute being patient and positive with your dog, you can do this. It’s so simple, even children love it!.

Which common dog behaviour problems does this training solve (e.g. barking, chewing, leash-pulling)?

The 1 Minute Dog Training method addresses all of the most common issues: leash-pulling, destructive chewing, excessive barking, and the foundational skills like sit, stay, and come. We also tackle house training, separation anxiety, reactivity, and general manners.

How long does it usually take to see noticeable improvement in my dog’s behaviour?

You’ll see changes faster than you think. Many of my client testimonials note improvements within the first few days of consistent practice. We’re talking visible progress in just minutes a day, repeated over days and weeks. Dogs respond quickly to clear, positive communication. The key word is “consistent”—do it daily, and you’ll be amazed.

Will this method work if my dog is stubborn, old, or has prior bad habits?

I’ve worked with countless dogs, and I can tell you: even old dogs set in their ways can learn. Yes, even yours. Unwanted habits can be unlearned with patience, consistency, and the right techniques. Age and stubbornness are challenges, not deal-breakers. I’ve seen it work time and time again.

Does this method help with house-training / potty training?

Yes. House training is one of the core areas we cover in the free videos. It’s all about positive reinforcement, consistent routines, and understanding your dog’s signals. No punishment, no rubbing noses in accidents—just smart, effective training that works.

Is it effective for both puppies and fully grown dogs?

Completely. Whether you’re starting with an 8-week-old pup or working with a 10-year-old dog who’s been doing things their way forever, these methods work. The principles of positive reinforcement and short, focused sessions apply across all ages.

What do I get with the free videos and guides?

You get immediate access to 8 free videos and 7 downloadable guides covering the essentials: potty training, leash-pulling, destructive chewing, sit/stay/come, separation anxiety, and more. It’s real training content, not just teasers. I want you to see the results right away.

Are there more advanced courses, and what do they include?

Yes. The full 1 Minute Dog Training course goes deep—17 comprehensive lessons, 23 videos, bonus guides, printable checklists, and complete coverage of behavioral issues, advanced leash work, potty training, reactivity, and how to read your dog’s body language. It’s everything I’ve learned in over 30 years of training, distilled into a format that actually fits your life.

Do I need to sign up or register to watch the free videos?

Yes, just drop your email so I know you’re a real person (not a bot), and you’ll get instant access. Simple as that.

Is the training content digital only (videos/e-books), or do you offer in-person training too?

Everything’s digital. Videos you can watch on your phone, e-books and guides you can read anywhere, interactive quizzes—all designed so you can train on your schedule, in your home. You can be anywhere in the world and my three decades of experience comes right to your device.
